Every compatriot living abroad should actively bring to the world the fair position of Azerbaijan

Dear compatriots, according to the official information of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, at 6 AM on September 27,2020 Armenian armed forces committed a large-scale provocation, firing on positions of the Azerbaijani Army in the direction of Gapanli village of Tartar region, Chiragli and Orta Garavand villages of Aghdam region, Alkhanli, Shukurbayli villages of Fuzuli region and Jojug Marjanli village of Jabrayil region using large caliber machine guns and sniper rifles.

Armenian armed forces continue to fire on our positions and residential areas along the frontline and deliberately target the civilian population in accordance with the tactics included in the combat training. It is a gross violation of international humanitarian law. The presence of the Armenian armed forces in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan remains major threat to the regional stability.

Armenian political - military leadership bears full responsibility for the tense situation along the front-line zone.

The Armed forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan are undertaking the necessary counter-offensive measures to prevent another military aggression by Armenia and to ensure the protection of the civilian population.

The Azerbaijani Army is powerful, ready to respond to the military provocations of Armenia and liberate occupied lands from the enemy. We announce that the Azerbaijani Army does not target the civilian population, civil facilities, and civil infrastructure.

We appeal to Azerbaijanis living abroad not to use unofficial, unspecified and biased information on social networks, electronic media and other mass media means.

We understand your concern about the happenings in the frontline zone and state that each compatriot living abroad should be active in conveying Armenia’s provocative actions and Azerbaijan's just position to the world, informing the society of the country of residence and should take an active part in disseminating accurate information about the happenings in the frontline zone.

As the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, said in his appeal to the nation today: “This occupation must and will end! We are on the right path! Ours is the cause of justice! We will win! Karabakh is ours! Karabakh is Azerbaijan!"
