"Starting from September 27 this year, the Armenian armed forces have repeatedly fired rockets at Azerbaijani settlements far from the frontline, including Ganja, Mingachevir, Naftalan cities, Absheron, Sabirabad, Kurdamir, Goranboy, Khizi and Gabala districts. As a result of the missile strikes, civilians and children were killed, apartment buildings in the central part of Ganja were destroyed, and civilian objects were severely damaged. According to the latest information, 65 civilians were killed and 297 were injured as a result of Armenian provocations. The killing of innocent children is the most obvious example of Armenian savagery, genocide and vandalism act. Azerbaijan is on the right way, conducts military operations within the borders determined by international law and liberates its lands in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions."

This statement came from Fuad Muradov, chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, during a virtual meeting with Ovidiu Burdusha, State Secretary of Romania and Head of the Department of Romanians Abroad.

Recalling the opinion of President Ilham Aliyev that "there are great opportunities for further development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Romania, especially the promotion of economic and trade cooperation," the committee chairman stressed the strength and development dynamics of relations between Romania and Azerbaijan.

He also noted that Romania was one of the first countries recognizing Azerbaijan after Azerbaijan regained its independence. Since then, bilateral relations have developed on the principles of mutual understanding and friendship, and today there are steady friendly relations between our countries.

The sides exchanged views on the activities of the Armenian diaspora in Romania against Azerbaijan, the broad coverage of Azerbaijan's just position in Romania, as well as the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the field of diaspora policy.

He expressed his deep regret over the loss of life as a result of the war and said that his country has always supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The head of the Department of Romanians Abroad said that up to 6 million Romanians live in different countries of the world and expressed his satisfaction with the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Romania.

Attending the meeting, Ambassador of Romania to Azerbaijan Dan Iancu stressed the importance of implementing new projects to deepen relations between the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and the Department of Romanians Abroad.

The sides also exchanged views on the peaceful actions of Azerbaijanis living abroad and the diasporas of friendly countries in protest of the Ganja terror and various measures taken to draw the attention of the international community to these vandalism acts.
